Sacramento Fashion: Tights with Open Toe Sandals?
New Trend Alert for Spring: Tights with Open-Toe Sandals...
Ok...just hear us out! We know...it is almost impossible to forget the tragic pairing of Birkenstocks with sport socks on our middle-school science teacher! And...honestly from that point on we have always considered the sandals-and-socks combination to be one of fashion's biggest no no's right?
But then...something amazing happened.... 'models' were spotted on catwalks near and far sporting the questionable duo. Then, as if any further assurance was needed, 'celebrities' like Jessica Alba starting parading around in this duo as well. All of a sudden...we had to admit, this pairing looked...well, cool?!
Halt! This is where things can turn very ugly for the 'novice.' So, with that...tips to pull of this tricky trend:
1.Start with a simple peep-toe pump and solid opaque tight. After that, a high-heel T-strap or platform sandals work best.
2. Stick to monochromatic shoes. Avoid this season's popular gladiator sandal and anything with a lot of straps or wooden heels.
3. Except for trusty black on black, the sandal and tights trend is one that should rarely be matching. Never under any circumstance pair white with white (keep that look in your closets for your 'sexy nurse' costume come next Halloween.)
4. Don't be a Kelly Bundy! Ditch the sexpot heels in favor of chunkier sandals, wedges or kitten heel peep-toe pumps.
