Colorblocking Trend: It's All About Hue

Last night you wore yellow, saw red, felt blue and turned green all within 24.

You make no apologies - you live a colorful life.

Which is why Colorblocking has your name colored all over it.

Straight from the summer runways of Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Diane Von Furstenberg, colorblocking is simply creating an outfit by pairing blocks of solid color.

Whether you’re blocking out monotones, brights,
contrasting or complimentary colors, the rules are simple and straight-forward. Stick with solids and avoid too much texture. For the best matches marry a neutral with a bright, or pair colors close together on the color wheel: greens with blues, reds with purples, pinks with oranges.

How to wear: Match a teal button down with a cobalt blue pencil and pair with nude pumps for smart office casual. Try it primary-on-primary by pairing red skinny denim with a silky blue tank and forest green stilettos – perfect for
effortless concert chic. Take it poolside by mixing and matching your bikini tops and bottoms: a red bandeau with a purple side tie or an orange triangle with green hipsters.

After all, it’s all about hue.
