Illusion Mesh: Grin and Bare It

TomKat, Bennifer, Brangelina. Who’s not a fan of mesh trends.

And here’s another to love: Illusion Mesh is hot for Winter!

Gracing catwalks and peek-a-booing all over red carpets, mesh is a chic but modest way of showing some skin during not-so-tan seasons.

No stranger to the fashion scene, the new breed of mesh is ultra strategic — adding just a hint to the bodice or yoke of an otherwise simple black dress makes a subtle, yet severe statement.

How to wear: Layer a strong-shouldered blazer over a long-sleeved mesh bodysuit, and pair with cropped slouch pants for an edgy after-work-cocktails-to-club ensemble. Or, sex it up a bit by ditching the blazer all together, and slipping on some faded black denim and platform booties. (Just remember to wear a sexy bra or bandeau worthy of debut.)

Don’t have time to coordinate? Leave the thinking to a ready-to-wear mesh dress. Strategically constructed to expose just enough to avoid wardrobe malfunctions, look for sheer bodices with asymmetrical lines for a contemporary look, or try a sweetheart underlay for Old Hollywood glam.

Grin and bare it.
