Local Roots Food Tours: Gut Instincts
Your nutritionist thinks you need more protein. But Skinny Bitch says you should give up meat. Your esthetician wants you to drop a few hundred bucks on your skincare regimen. And your dermatologist claims Cetaphil will work – just – fine. Your gay husband urges you to go short bob for summer. Your real husband – he threatens divorce if you dare.
And this could go on forever.
Which is why you’ve decided to take a break from all the conflicting advice and get back to basics. Like eating right.
The first call you make is to Lisa Armstrong, a local culinary veteran who loves to share her passion for food. Lisa doesn’t try to force-feed you advice. She invites you on a Local Roots Food Tour instead.
Local Roots Food Tours are a chance for you to treat your taste buds while learning to appreciate what you’ve got growing in your own backyard. You’ll savor each step through our city – as your tour group stops for seven or eight signature dishes prepared by Sacramento’s most creative chefs in the restaurants that make our dining scene so unique. The bonus – tour groups are limited to no more than 16 people, so each participant has a chance to connect with the chefs and restaurateurs they meet along the way.
All of the dishes prepared are made specifically for the Local Roots Food Tour group. And, at all of your stops, you’ll learn about the chef’s inspiration for making the dish. You’ll hear more about out where each chef shopped for their fresh, local ingredients. The only bummer – each tour only lasts three hours – which is barely enough time to spend with your trained guide and newfound friends.
Local Roots Food Tour tickets are $58 (for adults) and require advance purchase. The ticket price includes a trained guide for your culinary journey, food and beverage at each stop, and access to discount coupons for future tours.
Now pat yourself on the back. You knew the answer was as simple. Turns out following your gut was literally a walk in the park.
