Restaurant THIR13EN Opens: Teenage Dream
He bought you a Mariah Carey album for Valentine’s Day and he always put a little extra Butterfinger in your Blizzards (just one of the perks of dating a 2 year much older man who worked at Dairy Queen). You had braces and an unnecessary perm, but still looked great in your skin tights jeans and neon legwarmers.
Thirteen was a rough year for some – but for you – it was a rite of passage. You finally put down Sweet Valley High and you obsessed over Cruel Intentions.
Well, you’re not the only person progressing…
Adam Pechal of Tuli Bistro is becoming a little less “chef” and a lot more “restaurateur.”
Adam’s most recent endeavor, Restaurant THIR13EN, is nestled within the historic Sterling Hotel. And, much like adolescence, this classy (but approachable) new joint isn’t all that simple.
For those of you who are superstitious – don’t be deterred by the 13 silver serving spoons mounted on the wall. Don’t let the 13 antique mirrors spook you. And pay no mind to the 13 seats at each of the community tables. Focus on the full bar, the incredible wine list or the imported beer instead.
For the time being, Restaurant THIR13EN will feature five to seven course prix fixe dinners (ranging from $75-$125 per person) and will cater to theatergoers as well with a more moderately priced three-course menu offered to Music Circus and Broadway Series ticketholders. Look for lunch to be added starting June 6.
If you think there’s a chance you’ll still look great in something skin tight – you can order some small plates or drink your lunch instead. Hit the patio, order The Winchester (think Manhattan meets Old Fashioned) and soak up the sun on what will surely be one of Sacramento’s favorite new outdoor happy hour spots.
Let’s go all the way tonight.
