Sacramento: Tax Rebate?
According to IRS, the checks will be sent out according to the last two digits of your Social Security Number. Check out the table to find out when to expect yours.
And, as with anything that sounds too good to be true, the ‘exceptions’ are:
1. If you owe 2007 taxes, you MUST fill out your return and send payment as usual. Don’t try deducting your expected stimulus payment from your tax bill; the IRS will most likely reward your cleverness with colorful interest and penalties. Yikes.
2.If you have a past-due federal or state income-tax bill or some other type of past-due federal debt such as child support or even student loans, your stimulus payment likely will be reduced by what you owe. The IRS is all knowing and all-powerful…I think that’s how it goes?
Guess all that’s left is figuring out how to spend your extra dough (as if you haven’t already…)
