Velvet Leaf Clothing: Sustainable Style

You and Mother Earth are like this these days. You pack your groceries in canvas totes, recycle all those Diet Pepsi cans, and never ever spit your sugar-free Trident on the sidewalk.

The next logical step for a green do-gooder like yourself? A guilt-free fashion fix with the help of organic, sustainable and recycled looks from Velvet Leaf Clothing!

Velvet Leaf’s eco-conscious creators & sustainable sisters, Becky & Laura Carter, combine their two greatest loves of fashion & the Earth to create a 100% ECO SKAL Certified clothing line. Translation? Their collection not only uses 100% Certified Organic Cotton, but is also manufactured with certified factories that use low wastage dyes, fair labor, and sustainable packaging.

Self-described as “vintage with a modern flare,” B & Lo combine a 1960′s influence with modern touches for their bright, mod & geometric Spring/Summer ’09 line, while choosing to get a bit more Medieval on you for their upcoming Fall/Winter ’09 collection.

Each eco-chic piece is locally made by hand (their manufacturing plant and sewing center is located in the back of their Sacramento store) and shipped out to boutiques from here to Paris. And, since their entire line is all made from 100% certified organic cotton, hemp, bamboo and silk, you’re free to strut your stuff with a completely clear conscious. (for once!)

Velvet Leaf Clothing is planted at 1115 H Street; next to The Offices at RetroLodge & Naked Coffee Lounge. Shop online at www.shopvelvetleaf.com
