This Weekend: Big Names Small Art & The Store @Article

What: Join the Crocker Art Museum for a silent auction party featuring the work of “Big Name” regional artists. Enjoy music, artist demos, and a good time for a great cause. Each “Small Art” work measures 12 x 12 inches or less. Bidding starts at just $25. Free to members, $15 non-members. Purchase in advance at Admission Desk or online. Proceeds to support exhibitions and education programs at the Crocker.

EAT: Clark’s Corner Opens

What: Landmark corner of 57th and J Streets in East Sacramento (known as the birthplace of Shakey’s Pizza Parlour) reopens as Clark’s Corner! Executive Chef Marlaw Seraspi (Google’s corporate dining center, Nectar in Burlingame, 231 Ellsworth) offers a “Classic American” menu under the direction of owner and East Sac native, Clark Branscum.

SUPPORT: Walk ‘N Rock featuring KISS

What: Join Hope Productions for Walk ‘N Rock for Kids 2011, an annual fundraising walk and benefit concert to support local kids charities. Event will kick off with 5K walk with music along the route, followed by entertainment, interactive booths, kids activities, more music and food. ”ROCK with KISS” benefit concert to follow featuring legendary rock band KISS!
