This Weekend: Boobie Show & Sammies Block Party

SUPPORT: 3rd Annual Boobie Show

What: j27 Gallery plays hosts photo artist, Monica Newmann Lunardi, and her 3rd Annual Boobie Show. With a vision of educating the public about Breast Cancer Education & Prevention stemming from her own survival of the illness, her show is a beautiful portrayal of models of all sizes, colors, and stories – each with a touch of pink to advocate breast cancer awareness. 20% of show sales will be donated to the local charity, Albie Aware Outreach & Support Program.

When: Show runs October 1st – 31st.

GO: Sammies Block Party

What: SN&R presents the 20th Annual Sammies Block Party & Music Awards with hosts Av and Adam Saake. Sammies Award winners, beer garden, and live music with performances by Autumn Sky, Be Brave Bold Robot, Reggie Ginn and Adrian Bourgieous. FREE admission.

When: Saturday, October 1st; 4:30pm – 10pm.

What: ¡me gusta! KIDS Grand Opening at The Fountains in Roseville. An eco-friendly children’s shop featuring clothing, furniture, toys, books, and accessories (all with a modern and fun sensibility), as well as a play space open to the 
public, children’s classes, weekly playgroups, story and craft time, art gallery featuring works of local children & more.

SEE: Sac Ballet’s Dracula

What: Join the Sacramento Ballet for their season opener of the revival of Ron Cunningham’s chilling work about Transylvania’s favorite son – Count Dracula. Dance becomes the perfect vehicle for the sensual story of love beyond the grave in this powerful and dramatic production. Tickets at $17.

JOIN: 24 Hour Fitness Grand Re-Opening

What: 24 Hour Fitness celebrates the grand re-opening of its downtown ‘Super-sport’ club with Mayor Kevin Johnson joining the festivities and declaring it “Healthy Sacramento Day”. At the event, the club’s renovated first floor will be revealed – accounting for 19,000 square feet of additional space and completing the club’s 31,000 square foot expansion featuring a new full-size basketball court, racquetball court, updated pool, new equipment, refreshed Cycle & Group X(R) rooms and towel service.

When: Monday, October 3rd. Club opens at 5am, ribbon cutting at 11am.
